Admission to Internship Programs

Due to the selective and highly competitive nature of the AIU London Internship Program, a limited number of internships are awarded. Only individuals with strong academic credentials, a high degree of motivation, good communications skills, and clearly stated short- and long-term career goals are considered.

Unpaid full-time and part-time internships are available.

Internship Eligibility Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a US university with junior or senior standing.
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (undergraduate) for the last sixty (60) hours of degree-level study fulfilled before the internship application deadline.

Internship Application Requirements

The following documents must be submitted:

  • Application form and non-refundable $75 application fee.
  • Official transcript showing minimum undergraduate cumulative grade point average of 3.0 for the last sixty (60) hours of degree-level study fulfilled before the internship application deadline.
  • Signed Internship/Course Pre-Approval form.
  • Resume detailing academic experience, professional accomplishments and community service.
  • Statement of Purpose – one-page focused letter which defines the experience desired and the personal qualities you can bring to the internship program.
  • Letter of recommendation from a professor, advisor or employer.
  • Design students are required to submit an electronic portfolio of work with their application.
  • Fashion design students must bring garment samples to London for the interview stage.

*Your résumé and statement of purpose MUST be sent via email (sapstudentservices@sap.aiuniv.edu) as a Word attachment to the Study Abroad Program.

Deadlines are firm. All paperwork must be submitted by the following dates:

  • Winter – October 17, 2008
  • Spring – December 31, 2008
  • Summer I – March 31, 2009
  • Summer II – May 1, 2009
  • Fall – July 31, 2009
